After I moved to Barcelona in 2002 one of my dreams was to photograph a weddings in Mexico again, it took a while but thanks to Paul & Rocío my dream not only came true but it went way too far from all my expectations. The first time I heard from Rocío she asked me if I can shoot her wedding in a vineyard near Querétaro in México. No doubt, my answer was yes. I used to shot weddings in Monterrey before I moved to Barcelona but shooting in a vineyard near Querétaro was obviously a fantastic idea. I sent Rocío all the information and then a long silence follow a wait for her answer. When I thought I had missed my chance she came back with another email, she was ready to book only this time there were a few changes, the wedding would be held in Acapulco.
We did all the arrangements and a few months later I was flying to Mexico. Sometimes I can’t believe how lucky I am, at the same time I received news from one of my best friends who recently decided to get married just a week before Rocío and Paul’s wedding, I felt blessed from up to toe! I always take my time to visit my family every time I travel to Mexico but that was a blast!
Rocío & Paul’s wedding day arrived and although I knew the venue was going to be amazing I could hardly believe when I saw the views they had planned to marry that afternoon. Everything was just perfect! Well, if only it had not been so hot. The venue was the Banyan Tree Cabo Marques Resort in Acapulco, built on stilts over dramatics cliffs, it offers spectacular views.
Rocío and Paul are not only an extremely handsome couple but also amazing human beings. One of the most touching moments was the ‘first look’, see Paul crying was very emotional. They got married just before the sunset, a life time experience. Rocío was wearing a gorgeous Pronovias gown, shoes from Westies and espadrilles by Tory Burch.
Thanks to Rocío and Paul who kindly trusted my work, to the amazing team of Panoramica Films for their help and fellowship and to my gorgeous colleague Marta Britto for sharing this adventure with me.
